Step 1: Freight Elevator Shaft Introduction

Monolithic cast-in-place concrete is a highly common and recommended choice. Reinforced concrete shafts offer exceptional strength and stability, capable of withstanding both the operational loads of the elevator and the impact forces from loading and unloading cargo.

They also provide excellent fire resistance and sound insulation, while the seamless construction minimizes the risk of cracks and air leakage.

While brick-concrete shafts are also a viable option, they simply cannot match the structural integrity of monolithic reinforced concrete. For heavy-duty traction freight elevators (such as those with a 3-ton or 5-ton capacity), monolithic concrete is generally preferred to ensure optimal safety and resistance to impact.

Step 2: Traction Freight Elevator-Machine Room or Machine-Room-Less?
This decision is critical as it dictates the specific type of elevator suitable for your project.

Below 5 Tons:

Machine-Room-Less (MRL) Freight Elevators Recommended If your factory requires freight elevators with a capacity under 5 tons (e.g., 2 or 3 tons), machine-room-less models are generally recommended.

Advantages:
MRL elevators house the control cabinet and other equipment inside or alongside the shaft, eliminating the need for a separate machine room on the roof. This significantly saves building space and effectively reduces civil construction costs.

Above 5 Tons:

Machine-Room Freight Elevators Recommended

For heavy-duty freight elevators with a capacity over 5 tons (e.g., 8 or 10 tons), models with a dedicated machine room are the preferred choice.

Advantages:
Heavy-duty elevators require larger and heavier equipment. A dedicated machine room provides independent space for heat dissipation and maintenance for the drive motor and control cabinet. This makes future maintenance more convenient and cost-effective.

Step 3: Make Sure the Load of Your Freight Elevetor.

Step 4: The Common Materials for Freight Elevator Cabin
Cabin Walls:

Cargo elevator walls are primarily constructed from steel or stainless steel to provide robust protection
Anti-collision Design:

To prevent damage to the cabin walls from forklifts or hand trucks, some cargo elevators are equipped with additional protective features inside the cabin, such as anti-collision guardrails, cushioning pads, or rubber-coated bumper plate
Checkered Steel Floor:

The checkered steel floor is the standard configuration for the vast majority of conventional freight elevators. The raised patterns on the floor effectively increase friction, preventing heavy cargo or hand trucks from slipping when entering or exiting the cabin.
Stainless Steel:

For locations with high usage frequency or strict environmental requirements, hairline-finished stainless steel is often used. This material is highly corrosion-resistant, scratch-resistant, and highly durable, making it less prone to aging.
Painted Steel:

This is the most basic and common configuration. The cabin walls are typically formed by bending high-strength steel sheets and then treated with a spray-paint coating (such as powder-coated steel). This effectively resists daily bumps and scratches.
